Obeta is the Ohio Barber Educational Training Academy. This page explains what we collect through this website and what we do with it. It is written plainly on purpose.

What we collect

Only what you type into the signup form:

• Mobile number — optional, and only if you ask for text updates.
• Email address — optional.
• Consent record — whether you ticked the box for texts, the exact wording you agreed to, the date and time, and the IP address the signup came from. We keep this because federal rules require us to be able to show how you opted in.

We do not run analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party trackers on this site. There are no cookies.

What we use it for

Telling you about enrollment. That is the whole list. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone for their own marketing.

We use service providers to store the list and to send messages on our behalf. They may only act on our instructions.

Text messages

We only text people who ticked the consent box. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop them, or HELP for help. Full terms are on the message terms page.

Getting off the list, or seeing what we hold

Reply STOP to a text, or use the contact route in the Contact section. You can ask us what we hold about you and ask us to delete it, and we will do it.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or until the list is no longer in use. Consent records are kept for as long as we hold the contact, plus four years afterwards, because that is the window in which we could be asked to prove consent.

Children

This site is not directed at anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
